Status Update: October 2025

Not much to be had at this time. I’ve been nose to the grindstone most of the year, often outside of the normal creative content I used to post. The first half of the year was a solid start, plowing through some much needed practical skills.

I wish could exude more on it, but best not to.

On the art side of things, it’s feels like it’s at a standstill. As for the job prospects… lackluster to say the least. We’ve seen many stories of ghost jobs over the past year, and I can attest to that. For the industry I had tried to break into over the spring and the summer, it was nothing but silence. Or the occasional recruiter calling just to say I didn’t have the experience.

Progress Log: Mindset & Motivation

Over the ebbs and flows of the last few years, I’ve had to come to the understanding that it is not I who gets to dictate when and where I create. For myself, it is not something that can merely be exuded out at will.

It’s not for lack of trying, for all the discipline in the world cannot always sustain one’s passions. Meanwhile, desperation and the need to survive either take hold or take precedence instead.

Excited to get these features working. Found a way to embed video into posts, and opted to use the tagging system in hugo to make art posts easily accessible for now.

I’m still on the fence about creating a custom taxonomy for dynamic generation for portfolio pieces, or to just make them as posts with a similar link pointing to the tag.

Migration to hugo CMS

With a new year comes the time to improve upon things. I’ve wanted to get sleepingcro.ws powered by HUGO for content management for some time, yet it was proving to be quite the task at the time.
